OREANDA-NEWS  Depending on the region and the level of facilities, the number of holiday bookings in Russian sanatoriums for the spring season increased by 10-30% year on year. This was announced by the medical director of the Association of Health Tourism and Corporate Health Mikhail Danilov.

"The reason is the unpredictability of the geopolitical situation, the consequences of earthquakes and ongoing seismic activity in Turkey, restrictions on travel to certain countries," Danilov said.

According to the expert, the growing interest in domestic sanatoriums among Russians is caused by the reorientation of tourist demand from foreign destinations to domestic ones.

The Alean tour operator informed the publication about an increase in the number of requests for trips to Russian sanatoriums in the off-season by 10% year-on-year. The Russians are most interested in recreation in the resorts of the Caucasian Mineral Waters, which is due to the abundance of relevant facilities in this area.

According to Sergey Romashkin, CEO of the Dolphin tour operator, the seasonality of demand for recreation in sanatoriums is less pronounced compared to resort and sightseeing destinations. He also noted the impact of the cost of rest, pointing to an increased average check of vouchers to Turkey by 50-60%.

Deputy General Director of Rosa Springs Ruslan Verdiev noted an increase in demand for spring holidays in the country by 1.5 times, for summer — by 3 times. Thus, the utilization of health resorts will increase by 10% and 25%, respectively. Irina Sokolova, CEO of Rodina Grand Hotel & SPA, expects a 15% increase in occupancy, and Nail Shaikhutdinov, director of the Bakirovo Sanatorium, expects a 20-25% increase year-on-year.
