OREANDA-NEWS Czech beer exports to Russia increased to 1.8 million euros in June. This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to data from Eurostat.

Thus, the Czech Republic has become the main supplier of this drink to the Russian market (among other EU countries). Before that, Germany was the leader for several years.

In June, Czech companies increased beer exports to Russia by 20 percent (compared to May), managing to overtake their German competitors. Shipments of the latter dropped by almost 18 percent.

Lithuania is in third place, which exported 1.1 million euros worth of beer to Russia, or 16 percent less. Beer supplies from Latvia are estimated at 938.7 thousand euros, and from Poland — at 763.9 thousand.

According to Eurostat, in June Poland was able to increase the supply of its wine to the Russian market to record levels. The corresponding figure rose to 8.3 million euros. In addition, Italy and Latvia were among the main suppliers.
