OREANDA-NEWS The trade turnover between Russia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has increased sixfold over the past five years - to $9 billion. This was announced on Thursday in the Telegram channel by Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin.

"It is important that despite pressure from the West, trade and economic cooperation between Russia and the UAE is developing successfully. Over the past five years, the trade turnover has increased almost sixfold and reached a record $9 billion last year," he wrote following a meeting with the UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade, Thani bin Ahmed az-Zeyudi, held within the framework of the International Economic Forum "Russia - the Islamic World: KazanForum-2023".

Khusnullin noted that the inflow of Russian capital to the UAE is growing, at the same time, cooperation in the field of tourism is developing. According to him, the United Arab Emirates is among the five most popular foreign destinations for Russian tourists.

"An active friendly dialogue has been established between Russia and the United Arab Emirates. The tone for such interaction is set by the leaders of our countries, who maintain close and trusting communication," the Deputy Prime Minister said.
