OREANDA-NEWS Next week, from March 14 to March 18, AvtoVAZ will resume production of cars at its main enterprise in Togliatti. At the same time, the Volga Automobile Plant will launch the production of only two Lada models - Granta family cars and Niva Legend SUVs. This is stated in the official message of the Russian automaker, received by the editorial office of RBC.

The Lada Granta assembly line will operate on March 16, 17 and 18 at full capacity in two shifts. On the same days, production of Lada Niva Legend SUVs will resume on a full schedule. At the same time, in both cases, March 14 and 15 will be declared days of downtime with the payment of two-thirds of the average salary to employees.

As for the production line of cars on the B0 platform, which produces Lada XRay hatchbacks, as well as Lada Largus station wagons and vans, it will remain idle next week.

In addition, preparations for the serial production of the new Lada Vesta (NG) will continue at the Lada Izhevsk enterprise. At the same time, the personnel not involved in the process will remain in idle mode with the preservation of two-thirds of the average earnings.

Finally, the divisions and subsidiaries of AVTOVAZ engaged in the production of spare parts and customer service will continue their activities full-time.

Earlier, AvtoVAZ announced March 5, 9, 10, 11 as days of downtime at its enterprises in Izhevsk and Togliatti due to "the ongoing crisis in the supply of electronic components."

In early March, amid the crisis due to the situation in Ukraine and interruptions in the supply of components, a number of large companies announced the suspension of deliveries and production of cars in Russia. Among them: Volkswagen, Skoda, Audi, Nissan, Toyota, as well as BMW and Mercedes-Benz.
