OREANDA-NEWS. The launch of the Proton-M rocket has been postponed due to problems in the upper stage. This was announced by the head of Roscosmos corporation, Dmitry Rogozin, in his Telegram channel.

"One more remark was revealed on the upper stage. We will not take any risks, the technical management decided to quietly finalize the rocket complex in the assembly and test building,"- he wrote. Rogozin added that the state corporation will inform about the reserve date additionally.

The launch was to take place at the Baikonur Cosmodrome.

This is the second time Roscosmos has postponed a launch. In November, Rogozin said that Proton-M, which was originally scheduled to launch on December 6, would be sent into space on December 12. At that time, he also attributed the decision to the need to refine the upper stage.

"Proton-M is a heavy-class launch vehicle, which is designed to launch spacecraft. It is equipped with the Briz-M upper stage. The rocket is to deliver the Express-AMU3 and Express-AMU7 spacecraft into orbit.

Express series satellites are designed to provide communications and broadcasting services in Russia, including fixed and mobile communications, TV and radio broadcasting services, broadband high-speed access to information resources and other applications.
