OREANDA-NEWS  The numerous ratings that exist in the Chinese automotive industry demonstrate an unexpected trend: cars of local brands that are in high demand in Russia have practically no buyers in the domestic market. Automotive expert Alexander Kovalev explained RG.RU why is this happening.

He immediately stressed that the Russian and Chinese car markets are "completely different universes." According to the expert, electric vehicles and hybrids account for almost half of new car sales in China. This is influenced by a reduction in the cost of the main components of power plants, which is reflected in the price of "eco—friendly" cars - they are often on par with gasoline counterparts of the same class. In addition, affordable credit rates and low inflation encourage Chinese people to regularly upgrade their personal vehicles.
