OREANDA-NEWS   The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs demanded that Israel immediately stop attacks on Lebanon. The reason for this was the announcement of a two-week cease-fire between the United States and Iran, TASS reports.

The Foreign Ministry's statement emphasized that the truce should entail an end to Israeli strikes on the neighboring country. Egyptian diplomats recalled the unequivocal statements of US President Donald Trump.

Despite the agreements reached by Washington and Tehran, the situation in Lebanon remains critical.

On the night of April 8, US President Donald Trump announced a two-week ceasefire agreement with Iran. The initiative was put forward by the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shahbaz Sharif.

According to the American leader, the US military goals have already been achieved, and they are ready to move on to a political settlement.
