OREANDA-NEWS   The German energy company Wintershall Dea has decided to completely leave the Russian market, observing all legal obligations, the company said in a statement.

"The Supervisory Board of Wintershall Dea approved the board's decision in principle to withdraw from Russia. As a result, Wintershall Dea intends to completely withdraw from Russia in accordance with the established procedure, observing all relevant laws and regulations," the publication notes.

It is clarified that Wintershall Dea expects a total loss from the write-off of Russian assets at the level of about 5.3 billion euros. In particular, we are talking about the refusal to participate in Nord Stream AG and WIGA Transport Beteiligungs-GmbH & Co. KG. Earlier in December, Vladimir Putin issued a decree restricting Gazprom's purchase of gas from joint ventures with OMV and Wintershall, with which the company extracts raw materials at the Urengoy and Yuzhno-Russian fields, if the amount of obligations exceeds the limit set by the government. The marginal prices apply to obligations that are due after March 1, 2022, and apply until October 1, 2023.
