OREANDA-NEWS  At the Admiralty Shipyards shipbuilding enterprise, the deep-sea vessel Sergei Bavilin was laid for the Navy. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry.

"On March 27, a solemn ceremony of laying the Sergey Bavilin autonomous deep-sea vehicle for the Russian Navy took place at the Admiralty Shipyards shipbuilding enterprise. The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Russian Defense Ministry," the statement said.

The device was developed according to the project of the St. Petersburg Marine Engineering Bureau "Malachite". "Sergey Bavilin" is designed to perform emergency rescue and scientific work, as well as environmental monitoring of the World Ocean.

Earlier in March, it became known that the deep-sea rescue vehicle AC-36 made a training dive from the carrier ship Mikhail Rudnitsky in the Kola Bay.

In January, the press service of the Pacific Fleet reported that the AS-30 deep-sea rescue vehicle was delivered to Vladivostok after scheduled maintenance. During the repair, the rescue inhabited vehicle received new engines.
