For the first time in two years, a container ship from China arrived in Odessa

OREANDA-NEWS To one of the ports of the Odessa agglomeration (Greater Odessa) a full-fledged container ship entered, which happened for the first time after the outbreak of hostilities on the territory of the country in February 2022. This is reported by the local newspaper Dumskaya and confirmed by the Marinetraffic maritime traffic tracking portal.
In early April, the Mare feeder (auxiliary container ship) entered the Odessa port for the first time, performing a charter flight between Odessa and the Romanian Constanta, and after that the T Moon feeder joined it.
However, ProsHope arrived directly from China, without calling at other ports. The vessel is flying the flag of Panama, it is operated by the German company Interorient Marine Services. Before that, Ukraine had already resumed container transportation through ports on the Danube, but using the capabilities of Odessa will increase their volume.
In January, the speaker of the Ukrainian Navy, Dmitry Pletenchuk, said that by the end of 2023, Ukraine began exporting grain through the Black Sea in virtually the same volume as it was observed before 2022.
