OREANDA-NEWS  India and Pakistan fought one of the largest battles in the modern history of aviation. More than a hundred fighters exchanged blows for about an hour, CNN writes, citing a source in the Pakistani security service.

The dogfight between Pakistani and Indian fighter jets was one of the "largest and longest in the modern history of aviation." According to Pakistani officials, five Indian planes were shot down. According to the TV channel's interlocutor, 125 fighters fought for more than an hour, while neither side left its airspace. The exchange of missile strikes took place at a distance exceeding 160 kilometers.

As explained, none of the conflicting parties was ready to send their pilots across the border, remembering the consequences of the air battle in 2019. Then the pilot of the Indian Air Force was shot down in Pakistan, it was broadcast on television. This time, neither side "wanted such humiliation."
