OREANDA-NEWS  Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi refused to hold an annual meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin this year because of the latter's threat to "use nuclear weapons in Ukraine," Bloomberg writes, citing a knowledgeable senior official. His name is not called.

The interlocutor of the agency explained that relations between Russia and India remain strong, but it may be unprofitable for Modi to "trumpet friendship" at this time.

At the end of November, the Kremlin sent India a list of more than 500 items of goods that the Russian economy needs in the face of sanctions. The list includes everything from spare parts for cars and airplanes to pumps and bumpers. This list surprised Indian officials.
