OREANDA-NEWS  Belarus and Turkey can play a constructive role as mediators in resolving the conflict in Ukraine, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said.

"We see countries that can play a constructive role as mediators. These include Belarus and Turkey, as President Vladimir Putin recently discussed with Turkish President (Recep Tayyip) Erdogan, who is also interested in helping to create a platform. It was not us who refused the Istanbul platform, but the Ukrainians," Lavrov said at a press conference with his Belarusian counterpart.
