OREANDA-NEWS  Education Minister Sergei Kravtsov said that the course on initial military training (NVP) will appear in schools from the next academic year.

"It will be in schools from the next academic year, now it is being prepared until January 1, then it will be tested," the minister said.

The day before it became known that the initiative to return the NVP to schools was supported by the Ministry of Defense, recommended that it be given at least 140 hours in high school.

The Fair Russia — For Truth party and its leader Sergey Mironov made a proposal to return primary military training to the compulsory secondary general education program. Izvestia wrote about the Defense Ministry's response to this initiative. In addition to professional retraining of already working teachers, the Ministry of Defense proposed to recruit teachers from citizens who previously served under a contract in officer positions, giving priority to military personnel participating in hostilities.

Mironov noted that the introduction of such a subject in schools will help solve another problem — to help with the employment of combat veterans.
