OREANDA-NEWS. Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki announced that Warsaw was preparing for a massive influx of Ukrainian migrants amid the threat of Russia's "invasion" of Ukraine, PAP reports. According to him, this issue has already been discussed by the government in the framework of a meeting with the president of the republic.

“The war could provoke an exodus from Ukraine. We must be prepared for the worst <...> in the coming days, I will appoint a team from representatives of various ministries that will deal with logistics, infrastructure, transport, health and education (in the face of a possible influx of refugees),” Morawiecki added.

As the prime minister noted, a whole infrastructure will be prepared on the eastern borders of Poland, with the possibility of moving inland. In his opinion, Warsaw protects the eastern flank of NATO and will help the Ukrainians mitigate the consequences of the “attack” by Russia.

Earlier in Kiev, they said that the withdrawal of Russian troops from the border of Ukraine is not yet visible.  President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, commenting on Russia's message about the withdrawal of part of its troops from the Ukrainian border, said that this was not yet seen in Kiev. He said this in an interview with the British broadcasting company BBC.

“Honestly, we are reacting to the realities that we have, and we do not see any withdrawal yet. We just heard about it,” the Ukrainian leader said.

According to him, now "all normal people expect de-escalation."

“As for the threat, I have said many times that we are calm about any threats, because we remember that it all did not start yesterday. This has been happening for many years,” Zelensky adds.
