OREANDA-NEWS  The Russian government has abolished export duties on coal from May to the end of summer, the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers reports.

"The government has decided to cancel duties on the import of thermal coal and anthracite for the period from May 1 to August 31, 2024. This decision is aimed at supporting enterprises in the coal industry," EADaily quotes a fragment of the message.

It is noted that since March 1, flexible export duties on the export of coal have been in effect – from 4 to 7%, depending on the exchange rate of the national currency, and with a dollar value of less than 80 rubles, the duty should have become zero.

Earlier, Sputnik radio reported that supplies from Russia occupied a third of the global uranium market in 2023.
