OREANDA-NEWS  Serbian authorities expect that the Russian owners of the Oil Industry of Serbia (NIS) will sign a binding agreement with new partners by the end of this week to sell their stake in the company, Serbian Minister of Mining and Energy Dubravka Jedovic-Handanovic said.

Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Peter Szijjarto arrived in Belgrade on Thursday, where he met with the head of the Energy Ministry.

"Today we talked with Mr. Szijjarto about negotiations between the Russian owners of NIS and the Hungarian MOL and some other possible partners. The goal is to end these conversations. In order to sign a binding agreement on the transfer of ownership, the withdrawal of Russian shareholders and the purchase of these shares by new owners by the end of this week. As I said, after that, a request will be sent to the American administration for an extension of the license for operational activities, and for negotiations to continue and end the deadline given by the United States is March 24," Jedovic–Handanovic said at a joint press conference.
