OREANDA-NEWS Iran continues to exchange messages with the United States, and there is no agreement on ending the conflict yet. This was stated by the official representative of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Ismail Bagai, quoted by the IRNA news agency.
"The agreement has not been finalized yet, the exchange of messages continues," the diplomat said.
He clarified that the issue of ending the conflict is currently being resolved, and topics related to Iran's nuclear program are not currently being discussed.
Bagai also spoke about the lifting of the naval blockade by the United States, noting that Tehran initially considered it illegal and violating the truce. He called for a look at whether Washington will act according to its statements, or whether this is just a propaganda thesis.
Speaking about the free passage through the Strait of Hormuz, the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs pointed out that the management of the waterway falls on Iran and Oman, as coastal countries.
Earlier it was reported that U.S. and Iranian negotiators agreed on a draft memorandum of understanding providing for a 60-day extension of the truce. According to Axios, the document is now awaiting approval by US President Donald Trump. The Iranian Tasnim news agency denied this information, noting that the text of the memorandum has not yet been agreed and approved.
