OREANDA-NEWS About 100 public organizations from South Korea and other countries have petitioned the administration of the President of the Republic of Korea to resume direct flights between Seoul and Moscow, include the resumption of flights in government policy and compensate for the damage caused by the lack of direct flights to citizens, RIA Novosti correspondent reports.

On Tuesday, a press conference was held in one of the buildings of the National Assembly in Seoul, where participants presented an official appeal to the Presidential Administration, the Ministry of Lands, Infrastructure and Transport and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, containing relevant requirements.

The authors of the petition stressed that the termination of direct flights "violates the right to freedom of movement of about 150,000 Koreans and compatriots abroad," and called for "moving from symbolic sanctions to pragmatic diplomacy."
