OREANDA-NEWSThe Kazakh authorities extended the state of emergency due to the coronavirus pandemic until May 11. This is stated in a statement by the President of the Republic Kassym-Zhomart Tokaev, published on Monday by his press service.

“Given the current situation in our country and on the basis of a proposal by the state commission and experts, I decided to sign a decree on the extension of the state of emergency until May 11 of this year. This decision is dictated by the current complex reality. In accordance with the law, the state of emergency will be completed on May 11, unless, of course, a new massive outbreak of the epidemic occurs. I hope this does not happen", the head of state said.

According to him, the peak of incidence in Kazakhstan has not been completely completed and the threat of getting the situation out of control still remains. The state commission on ensuring the state of emergency in Kazakhstan is ready to go on easing quarantine measures.
