OREANDA-NEWS Russia will not impose gas supplies to the Netherlands and will find new markets, Russian Ambassador to the Netherlands Alexander Shulgin said, according to Gazeta.ru.

According to him, the Netherlands should think hard about the way out of this situation.

He added that GasTerra's refusal to pay for gas supplies from Russia in rubles is a consequence of the policy of the Dutch government, which supports the sanctions. Given that the company is state-owned, it has to follow the political decisions.

On May 31, the Dutch minister for climate and energy policy Rob Yetten said that the decision of the Russian side to stop gas supplies after GasTerra's refusal to pay under the contract in rubles will complicate the replenishment of fuel reserves for the next winter.
