OREANDA-NEWS Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer, speaking to members of the country's Federal Council, said that Vienna was preparing to transfer Gazprom's gas storage facility in Haidach to another supplier. TASS quotes him as saying.

The transfer of Gazprom's gas storage in Haidach may take place if the Russian company refuses to fill it with fuel. Austria has already developed legal prerequisites for this. The strategically important natural gas storage facility is currently empty.

During his phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Nehammer said that he had told him about the intention to transfer the storage facility to another supplier because the country's energy security was an issue.

On May 27, Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer and Russian President Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation, which Nehammer described as "very serious".
