OREANDA-NEWS Lithuania has handed over M113 armored personnel carriers to Ukraine, thus completing a €15.5 million assistance transfer from Vilnius, Interfax reported, citing the Lithuanian Defense Ministry.

Ukraine will also receive ten military trucks and the same number of off-road vehicles for demining operations.

It is noted that the Lithuanian Armed Forces, train Ukrainians to use Western weapons, provide them with opportunities to improve their skills. During the April exercise, anti-tank system instructors were trained, and in June, the Ukrainian military completed a specialized course at the Lithuanian Armed Forces School of Division General Stasys Raštikis on an international defense enhancement educational program.

The M113 armored personnel carrier transferred to Ukraine is a 10.4-ton caterpillar vehicle that seats 12 soldiers and the driver and can float at 6 kilometers per hour.
