OREANDA-NEWS The Bosphorus was blocked due to an engine failure on the Turkish vessel ARDA en route to Russia. This is reported by NTV with reference to the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey.
It is noted that with the help of tugs belonging to the Turkish Coast Guard, the 98-meter vessel, which had a malfunction, was towed away.
After the work was carried out, the movement of ships along the Bosphorus was reopened.
Earlier it became known that ships have to pay seven times more for passage through the Bosphorus and Dardanelles Straits than two years ago. In addition, passage through another important transport artery, the Suez Canal, has increased by 5-15 percent (depending on the type of vessel).
