OREANDA-NEWS The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) spent 953,000 rubles to prepare a terrorist attack against the deputy head of the Main Operational Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Yaroslav Moskalik, who was blown up in the spring at an apartment building in Balashikha. Kommersant writes about this.

SBU agent Ignat Kuzin received $800 and 30,000 rubles for travel expenses and arrived on a regular Kiev—Moscow bus. He received 50-60 thousand rubles a month by renting a house in the capital.

For the "bomb on wheels", a Volkswagen Golf car with a station wagon body was purchased for 400 thousand rubles to accommodate an explosive device in it. The car was bought based on an online advertisement. Kuzin assembled the explosive device and put it in a shoe box. He placed it in the car along with the video camera. Vadim, a supervisor from the SBU, remotely checked the bomb and "authorized" the attack.

The attack was carried out on the second attempt, the first time the bomb failed due to a dead battery.

At 10:44 a.m. on April 25, 2025, an explosion occurred when General Moskalik came out of the entrance. He did not survive his injuries. The bomb was remotely detonated by an unidentified accomplice.

On November 27, the Second Western District Military Court sentenced Kuzin to life in prison. He will spend the first ten years in prison, and the rest of the years will be in a special regime colony.
