The EU Council has extended economic sanctions against Russia for six months

OREANDA-NEWS The Council of the European Union announced the extension of economic sanctions against Russia until July 31, 2026.
"The EU Council has extended for six months, until July 31, 2026, restrictive measures against Russia related to the ongoing destabilization of the situation in Ukraine," the statement said.
In the summer of 2025, Brussels extended these measures until January 31, 2026.
"These economic measures, first introduced in 2014, have been significantly expanded since February 2022," Brussels recalls.
"The EU Council has extended for six months, until July 31, 2026, restrictive measures against Russia related to the ongoing destabilization of the situation in Ukraine," the statement said.
