OREANDA-NEWS The European Commission has proposed to impose retaliatory tariffs on certain goods from the United States, amounting to 25%. This information has been reported by Reuters, citing the relevant document.
According to the agency, the tariffs on these goods will come into effect on May 16, with the remaining tariffs starting to apply on December 1.
The list of affected products is extensive and includes diamonds, dental floss, sausages, nuts, and soybeans. However, bourbon, wine, and dairy products were not included in this list, despite the European Commission considering the possibility of imposing tariffs on them in March.
Earlier, European Commissioner for Trade Maros Sefcovic announced that the first tariffs on imports from the United States would be implemented on April 15.
According to the agency, the tariffs on these goods will come into effect on May 16, with the remaining tariffs starting to apply on December 1.
