OREANDA-NEWS The European Commission disagreed with the assessment of the EU's policy towards Ukraine as pro-war and assured that it was aimed at achieving peace.
"I want to answer you very, very clearly: the policy of the EU and the European Commission is aimed at a lasting and just peace," EC representative Paula Pinho said at a briefing, answering a question about whether the European Commission would change its pro-military policy in light of the agreements between the United States and Ukraine in Saudi Arabia.
At the same briefing, Anitta Hipper, a spokeswoman for the head of EU diplomacy, Kai Kallas, confirmed that the initiative of the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs to allocate additional billions of dollars to supply Kiev with ammunition, air defense systems, as well as to expand the training of Ukrainian military personnel remains in force.
"The offer is still on the table. We are working with the Member States. Discussions are continuing to strengthen Ukraine, supply it with the necessary ammunition and air defense assistance, as well as support in everything it needs," Hipper said.
Representative Kallas admitted that this topic will be the subject of discussion at the EU summit on March 20-21.
