OREANDA-NEWS The Council of the European Union (EU) has been asked to allocate 45 billion euros to Ukraine, bypassing a $90 billion loan blocked by Hungary and Slovakia. This is stated in a message on the official website of the European Commission.
"The European Commission has proposed to the EU Council to approve the allocation of 45 billion euros to Ukraine for the development of unmanned technologies by December 31, 2026. The remaining 90 billion euros will be calculated for next year," the government body stressed.
Earlier, the European Commission proposed to the Ukrainian authorities to adopt 11 bills in order to receive about 4 billion euros, bypassing the veto of Budapest and Bratislava. As noted in Brussels, such a step will signal Ukraine's readiness to continue reforms and move towards EU membership.
