OREANDA-NEWS  Poland is ready to defend its territory, President Karol Nawrocki said during the debate of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.

"State borders are no longer inviolable, and international law has turned from a rule into a recommendation. The existing international order is collapsing before our eyes, and the world has entered a dangerous new era of great power rivalry, breaking the rules and testing how far one can go before someone firmly says "enough is enough," said Nawrocki, quoted by Polish media.

According to the president, during the recent violation of the country's airspace by drones, "Poland was forced to open fire on enemy targets over its territory for the first time since World War II."

"And I assure you, as Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces and President of Poland, that Poland will always respond appropriately and is ready to defend its territory," Nawrocki said, noting that "Poland allocates significant funds to develop its defense potential, strengthening the stability not only of the state, but also of our part of Europe."
