OREANDA-NEWS  Finnish President Sauli Niinistö told the Bloomberg news agency that he is "absolutely ready" to talk to Russian President Vladimir Putin if it would be useful.

"I must say that I am 'absolutely ready' to talk to him (Vladimir Putin - ed.), if this will be of any use. But at the moment we do not see anything like that," Niinistö said, answering a question about the possibility of negotiations with the Russian president in the future.

When asked by a journalist what the Finnish president would advise US President Joe Biden on the issue of dialogue with Putin, Niinistö said that he did not think that Biden needed his advice.

During the interview, Niinistö said that he often negotiated with Putin before the start of the special military operation in Ukraine, but the last time they spoke was in May.
