OREANDA-NEWS  The UK is switching to electronic visas, which will be the main way to confirm immigration status for visa holders, in addition, starting in July 2026, visas will not be pasted into passports, according to a note from the British Embassy in the Russian Federation.

The Embassy (of Great Britain - ed.) informs that the United Kingdom has switched to a system in which electronic visas (eVisas) are the main way to confirm immigration status for visa holders," the document published on the Rosaviation website says.

As noted in the note, an electronic visa is a digital record confirming an immigration permit to enter the UK or stay in the country, as well as containing information about the applicable conditions. Access to this data is provided through a personal account in the UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) system, the document adds.
