OREANDA-NEWS  The German Foreign Minister, Annalena Burbock, cannot serve as the head of the UN General Assembly due to her numerous statements and her strong Russophobic views.

Dmitry Polyansky, the First Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the United Nations, criticized her in an interview with RIA Novosti.

"As the German Foreign Minister, Burbock has said and done many things that are not appropriate for the role of the General Assembly's chairman," he said.

According to the diplomat, Burbock is known for her "very strange" statements, which is why Moscow has serious doubts about her ability to lead the General Assembly impartially. Polyansky also emphasized that Russia's concerns are shared by many UN member states.

Previously, Ralf Niemeyer, the head of the German Council for Constitution and Sovereignty, expressed his thoughts on the nomination of Annalena Baerbock for the position of President of the United Nations General Assembly.

He stated, "She is unconcerned about her conscience. Her sole objective is to secure a successful career, allowing her to later boast about having served as the President of the General Assembly."
