OREANDA-NEWS. Many of the initiators of today's sanctions campaigns against Russians collaborated with the Nazis during World War II, said Maxim Shugalei, director of the National Values Defense Fund. In his opinion, the sanctions against the inhabitants of Russia are designed to “undermine” the state, but this will not happen, writes Economy Today.

If you look at the history of the sanctions campaigns, many of their initiators collaborated with the Nazis and supported them during the Second World War. The current Canadian finance minister, Chrystia Freeland, is the granddaughter of a Ukrainian Nazi who participated in the Holocaust and then fled to Canada. The descendants of such people today impose sanctions against us, this is outright fascism. The main goal of Western sanctions is to hit the people, not Russia. The West is trying to undermine the situation, but they will not wait for this,” Shugaley stressed.

In his opinion, the United States and its partners are using their classic tactics against Russia: imposing sanctions on ordinary citizens to push them to rebel against the government. However, Shugalei assured that such a method of the Americans had never worked.

Earlier, the Russian government developed an action plan to stabilize the economy in the face of increased sanctions, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said. Thus, the Cabinet of Ministers proposes to support the hotel business by reducing some payments to the state, and not to stop projects in the construction sector. It is also planned to monitor the cost of the most socially significant food products, including the price of bread.
