OREANDA-NEWS  Representatives of the US administration and the California authorities will meet in court to consider the case on egg prices. This is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the analysis of court materials.

The first meeting is expected to be held on February 23. According to the agency, the White House has sued local authorities over the law of Proposition 12, which forces farmers across the country to spend huge amounts of money to increase chicken coops. In turn, this increases the cost of production.

As the Associated Press reported, egg prices rose sharply in 2024 and early 2025 due to an outbreak of avian flu that forced producers to kill nearly 175 million birds.

Earlier, Russian NHL player Mikhail Sergachev spoke about the egg problem in the United States. According to the athlete, egg prices have increased due to the shortage in the country.
