OREANDA-NEWS. March 31, 2011. Official support for the exhibition and conference is being provided by Russia’s Ministry of Transport, Russian Railways, Russia’s Federal Agency for Maritime and River Transport, the Association of Russian Freight Forwarders and the Freight Forwarders Guild of Russia, reported the press-centre of RZD.

At this year’s exhibition, over 450 companies from 30 countries will be displaying off-the-shelf solutions for transportation, software, shipments and handling.

Germany, Finland, Italy, Belgium, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia will be presenting their products at national pavilions. Ukraine and Kazakhstan will be represented for the first time.

Exhibitors include Russian Railways, Deutsche Bahn, the Port of Hamburg, CD Cargo Czech National Railways, Rhenus, Bremenports, PKR Cargo Trade Trans, Rusagrotrans, the First Freight Company, Novaya Perevozochnaya Kompaniya (NPK), FESKO, TransContainer, the National Container Company, Kuehne + Nagel, Gazpromptrans, R.N. Logistics, Gazpromneft and many others.

For the convenience of visitors, the exhibition will be divided into thematic sectors, making it easier to navigate its extensive area.

The conference TransRussia will be held in a conference hall in Pavilion 8 on the exhibition’s ground. Sessions will take place during the mornings over 3 days, from 26 to 28 April, thus giving participants not only the chance to participate in the discussions, but also to take in the rest of the exhibition.

The conference programme will include current issues in the transport market:

the development of Russia’s transport system and international cooperation in transport

the transit potential of the Baltic region

the market for rail freight in the final stage of reform

marine freight transportation and the development of ports

cooperation between freight shippers and freight owners

market trends in freight railcar construction

the role of transport and logistics infrastructure in sustaining and developing the freight transportation market

On 27 April 2011 a special meeting on security in passenger and freight transport will be held, as well as on transportation infrastructure.
