OREANDA-NEWS. Minsk Hotel built on Tverskaya Street almost a half-century ago is set to become by the end of 2008 a complex of office and retail premises and a 5-star hotel for 200 rooms named Intercontinental Hotels Group, the Construction World portal information service reports.

A project for the reconstruction of Minsk has been prepared by Mosproekt-2 Institute jointly with the foreign experts. A new 12-storey building will fit in with the nearby houses. Also, it will have 6 underground storeys. The up-and-down technology is set to be used during the construction of the complex that will allow to build upward and downward simultaneously. For this purpose the builders are installing a 35 meter-deep wall  down the ground as well as bore columns.

The building is invested by Vladimir Poddubko, head of hotel projects of Rossiysky Kredit Bank. The Satori building company acts as general contractor within the project.

The construction of the complex is set to be completed in late 2008. The complex's launch is scheduled for 2009.
