The 2015 Report provides an overview of LESTO's progress in improving relations with customers and other market participants, the environmental projects in progress, as well as initiatives for employees and the society. The Report also describes LESTO’s 2015 programs and achievements in its pursuit of social responsibility objectives

According to Liudas Liutkevi?ius, the CEO of ESO, the Company contributes to a more sustainable society primarily by doing what it is best at – ensuring a reliable supply and distribution of electric energy. Furthermore, it is an active participant in public education campaigns emphasizing issues of safe and rational use of energy resources.

‘We are delighted to see that last year our efforts were publically recognized when LESTO received a number of awards – including the 'Sustainable school' project that we implemented together with the Lithuanian Children and Youth Centre. This project promoted reducing carbon footprint, and was selected at the Swedish business award contest as the best social responsibility initiative of the year. LESTO also received awards for progress in improving our investor relations and was ranked third in the best annual and the corporate governance reports' categories, and the best in interactive investor relations.

‘This recognition inspires us for further improvement, as we believe that in 2016, after we have introduced ourselves as ESO, the society will realise our efforts  even more and the benefit we create', says the CEO of ESO.

During 2015, many of company’s employees became active participants in a range of our social responsibility activities: as lecturers on energy efficiency and the safe use of electricity they participated in a variety of events for communities and schoolchildren. ESO expanded association with libraries, which has become an extremely important channel to reach the residents of small towns and villages, and participate in their education by teaching them how to use the internet, and thus feel more comfortable in ordering daily services.
