OREANDA-NEWS The absence of African representatives among the permanent members of the UN Security Council is unfair, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the plenary session of the Russia-Africa forum.

According to him, Africa's role and importance are growing, and its representation in universal international organizations should be ensured.

"Here we just need to act carefully on the basis of, as we say, a broad consensus so as not to destroy at least what we have," the president noted.

He stressed that the international community does not yet have such a universal instrument as the UN and its Security Council. According to Putin, the Russian Foreign Ministry is working on the issue of Africa's representation in the Security Council.
