OREANDA-NEWS. Loans in 2016 H2 will be more affordable, according to the Bank of Russia study of Russian large banks. This data is published in the Bulletin ‘Bank Lending Changed Conditions’ in 2016 Q2. The document carries a detailed analysis of expected softer lending conditions for various categories of borrowers.

Banks expect a higher demand for new loans by basic categories of borrowers till the end of 2016 which is indicative of the recovery of lending activities, the Bulletin states.

In 2016 Q2, banks lowered their interest rates and softened individual nonprice lending terms considering higher competitiveness in the banking market and lower Bank of Russia key rate.

The softening of nonprice conditions embraced mostly high solvency borrowers which allowed banks to control loan portfolio quality.
