OREANDA-NEWS  Bitcoin rose sharply on March 4, rising above 71 thousand dollars. This is evidenced by the bidding data.

By the time of writing, the cost of the popular cryptocurrency was growing by 6.8 percent, to 71.31 thousand dollars.

The price of bitcoin, which was about $65,000 at the beginning of the US and Israeli attacks on Iran, began to rise synchronously with the dollar, which investors again perceive as a protective asset, as well as with gold, which rose in price by about 1.5 percent on March 4, to just over $ 5,200 per troy ounce.

The upswing followed several months of decline, during which bitcoin fell in price by 40 percent, and the broader cryptocurrency market collapsed by almost two trillion dollars from October 2025 to February 2026.
