OREANDA-NEWS  The Belgian depository Euroclear welcomes the EU's decision not to use Russian assets for a loan to Ukraine, the press service of the depository told RIA Novosti.

On the night of December 19, the summit ended in Brussels, following which the EU temporarily abandoned the seizure of Russian assets and decided to provide Ukraine with a loan of 90 billion euros from its own budget. The EU Council informed that Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic will not participate in securing this loan.

"We welcome the decision of the European Council regarding the financing option for Ukraine and remain committed to supporting the implementation of EU measures. We will continue to work constructively with lawmakers on issues related to sanctions and ensure that our actions are consistent with the broader goals of financial stability and the rule of law," Euroclear said.
