OREANDA-NEWS  Starting from January 1, 2026, old-age insurance pensions will be indexed by 7.6%, which is higher than the inflation expected by the end of 2025, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

"It is also important for us to continue to work systematically to increase the incomes of pensioners. As outlined in the May 2024 decree, pensions should grow at a rate not lower than inflation. Starting from January 1 next year, old-age insurance pensions will be indexed by 7.6%, that is, higher than the inflation expected by the end of the current 2025," Putin said at the beginning of a meeting on economic issues on Thursday.

In turn, social pensions will be indexed from April 1 "at the same rate as the living wage for pensioners will increase from next year," the Russian president added.
