OREANDA-NEWS Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District And the Nenets Autonomous Okrugs have become leaders in the ranking of Russian regions in terms of salaries in small settlements. This is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the results of its own research.

As the main ranking indicator, analysts used the ratio of salaries in the province to the regional cost of a fixed set of goods and services, calculated on average for 2024. Information about agricultural enterprises in the largest cities and regional capitals was deleted from the statistics. The rating also did not include the largest regions of the Russian Federation, including Moscow and St. Petersburg.

According to the results of the study, it turned out that in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District the average salary is enough to purchase 5.5 fixed sets of goods and services. According to this indicator, the region turned out to be the leader. The average monthly salary in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District last year was 146 thousand rubles. The Nenets Autonomous Okrug was in the second place. In the NAO, 5.1 standard sets can be purchased for an average salary of 138 thousand. The Magadan region closed the top 3 with a score of 4.9 standard recruitment and an average salary of 151 thousand.

In 2024, the average nominal salary in Russia increased by 18.3 percent and reached 76.5 thousand rubles, including personal income tax payments. Experts attributed this dynamic primarily to the shortage of personnel faced by most key sectors of the Russian economy. Against this background, employers have become more active in the fight for existing and new employees, offering them higher salaries. A similar trend was observed in the domestic market at the beginning of 2025, the Central Bank said. In January-February, the salaries of Russians continued to grow at a high rate, the regulator concluded.
