OREANDA-NEWS  Russian tennis player Andrey Rublev beat American Tristan Boyer and reached the third round of the US Open. 

The second round match ended with Rublev's victory in four sets with a score of 6:3, 6:3, 5:7, 7:6 (7:4). The opponents spent 2 hours and 55 minutes on the court. In the third round, Rublev will face 173rd racket of the world Coleman Vaughn, representing Hong Kong.

Rublev is 27 years old and currently ranks 15th in the ranking of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP). His best result at the US Open is the quarterfinals, where he reached four times — in 2017, 2020, 2022 and 2023.

Earlier on August 28, Russian tennis player Mirra Andreeva also reached the third round of the US Open. In the second round match, she defeated compatriot Anastasia Potapova with a score of 6:1, 6:3. Her next opponent will be American Taylor Townsend.

The US Open 2025 takes place in New York from August 24 to September 7. The prize fund of the tournament is a record $ 90 million.
