Taxes for bookmakers will increase 60 times

OREANDA-NEWS The income from the bookmaker tax will amount to more than 60 billion rubles in 2026. This was announced by Deputy Finance Minister Alexei Sazanov, quoted by TASS.
Sazonov noted that the tax burden on bookmakers will increase 60 times. "If last year they paid about 1 billion rubles, now, even taking into account the adjustments that were made for the second reading, the expected revenues will amount to just over 60 billion rubles," the deputy minister said.
On November 18, the State Duma adopted new taxes for bookmakers in the second reading. In particular, the Ministry of Finance replaced the tax on bookmakers' bets with a tax of 7 percent on the difference between deposits and winnings paid.
Earlier it was reported that the Ministry of Finance submitted to the government a new draft budget for 2026-2028. Among other things, the document proposes to introduce a 5 percent tax on betting accepted by bookmakers and a 25 percent tax on the profits of bookmakers from 2026.
