User spending on information security will increase by 10% in 2025

OREANDA-NEWS End-user spending on information security in 2025 will grow by 10% and amount to $213 billion, predicts the research company Gartner.
It is expected that by the end of 2026 they will increase by 12.5% and reach $240 billion.
"Some organizations are being very cautious about new security costs in the current highly uncertain and difficult situation," said Ruggero Contu, senior analyst at Gartner. "However, increased defense budgets, increased threats, increased regulatory pressure, and increased cybersecurity awareness, especially among small and medium-sized businesses, will contribute to maintaining high cybersecurity costs in the medium and long term."
Software is the fastest growing segment, as more and more companies are switching from on-premises systems to cloud-based ones, which creates new security risks, the report says.
