OREANDA-NEWS   Dutchman Guus Hiddink considers the time spent as the head coach of the Russian national football team to be magical. He stated this to Sport-Express.

"Thank you so much for your kind wishes! The time I spent with the Russian national team and Anzhi was magical. I am proud to have worked with many young, brave players and staff members. By taking third place at Euro 2008, we impressed the whole world!" said the coach.

On November 8, the Dutchman turned 76 years old. Hiddink headed the Russian national team from 2006 to 2010, under his leadership the team won bronze medals at the 2008 European Championship. The coach has also worked with the national teams of South Korea, Australia, Turkey, the Netherlands, China and Curacao.

At club level Hiddink coached Fenerbahce, Valencia, Real Madrid, PSV, Betis, Chelsea and Anzhi (2012-2013).
