OREANDA-NEWS. In an interview for Evening Moscow, dietitian doctor Elena Solomatina named pumpkin, plum and pear the three most useful fruits of early fall.

The autumn champion of good and taste is a pumpkin.  It is rich in beta-carotene, which gives it a delicious orange color.  It is necessary for good vision, skin, and especially mucous membranes: without beta-carotene, they are unable to renew.  And pumpkin supports the immune system, helps to remove excess fluid and is a great product for hypertensive patients.  Elena Solomatina recommended adding a little fat to pumpkin dishes - for example, sour cream, butter or vegetable oil - so that beta-carotene is absorbed properly.

The next healthy product is plum.  The brighter the color of the berry, the more it contains anthocyanins, which fight free radicals and protect the body from aging.

“Also, the plum contains fiber, pectins and very well removes salts of heavy metals, radionuclides.  The laxative property of plums is also known, ”added Solomatina.

Pear contains potassium, magnesium and pectins that cleanse the intestines.

“Pear is a wonderful dessert that is also better to eat raw, although sometimes it is baked. In the latter case, pectins will remove excess cholesterol,” she said, adding that pears should not be eaten on an empty stomach.
