OREANDA-NEWS. "Rangers" forward Artemiy Panarin was injured in an away game of the National Hockey League (NHL) regular season against "Arizona". It was announced by "Rangers" head coach Gerard Gallant after the game, journalist Vince Mercogliano wrote on Twitter.

"The Rangers" won the game against Arizona 3-2 in favour of the New York team.

The 30-year-old forward left the ice in the second period of the game on Thursday night. Panarin has not appeared on the ice again since his departure. According to Gallant, the Russian "suffered a minor lower-body injury". There is no word yet on when the forward will be back in the lineup. The coach also added that the Russian's condition is assessed as stable and expressed the hope that the hockey player will soon fully recover from the injury and return to the ice.

Panarin had no action in the seven minutes played against Arizona. Ilya Lyubushkin, the home team's defenceman, did provide an assist.

In total, Panarin has scored nine goals and assisted 24 times in the league. With 33 points in 29 games, he is the team's leading scorer.

After 29 games, "the Rangers" have 41 points and are second in the Eastern Conference standings. The team's next game is against "Vegas" on Saturday.
